Get In Touch
Hello and welcome to the new site! I’m excited that you’re here and to help you get acquainted, I’m sharing a few reasons why I’ve decided to embark on this exciting adventure.
For starters, here’s something you may not know about me. I like to talk. A lot. Anyone who knows me well will tell you that. However, I like to think that it’s more than just ‘talking’. To me, it’s a reflection of my passion for expression and connection.
Thinking and debating ideas, philosophies & solutions to things that matter make my heart skip a beat. Getting to know your thoughts, the things that go through your mind and the emotions that run through your heart make it skip three.
Writing is, and has always been, one of my favourite forms of expression. Combine that with a love for everything digital & social, it was only natural for me to gravitate towards blogging.
This has been a long time coming. But as they say, all good things take time. I won’t get into too, too much of my story here since I did a good amount of that on my About page. And since we’re all busy people, I’ll do my best to keep it short, sweet & simple. Well, at least, I’ll try.
1. To get to know you, your story and create a community based on passion, purpose and creativity
We all have our own journeys and experiences, that’s just part of what makes us beautiful and diverse. Through our stories, our challenges and our triumphs, I believe we can inspire each other, help each other and lift each other up. On a mission to make an impact, here’s where I’ll share mine, and maybe even some of yours too!
Being able to connect with people around the world is the best part about being online. This is your community, one made up of wonderful people from all walks of life and founded on principles of passion, purpose & creativity.
Community over competition, always.
2. To help you to do good, great things in life & in business
I believe that we’re all born with unique talents. I believe that we all have a purpose. I believe we all have the power to create a life we love. My work is dedicated to sharing knowledge, resources and inspiration to help you do good, great things in life and business.
Each week, we’ll be covering a variety of topics from business to lifestyle. From how-to’s to new ways of doings things and inspirational stories, you’ll find it here. You’ll also get a ton of free resources and tips because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love those?
I’ll also be sharing some of my favorite products, food stories and life lessons along the way. If the hustle has taught me anything, it’s that taking time for ourselves is more than important—it’s essential.
3. To change the way businesses are run (!)
I’ve worked with dozens of companies, big and small. Through much of it was focused on numbers – forecasts, margins, returns, valuations – I noticed a common thread. Companies with a strong set of values stood the test of time. Leaders who treated their employees like their best customers thrived. CEOs who did things right won in the long run.
My experience has shown me that business is personal. That business is creative. And that a real, authentic, human connection is what separates the good from the great.
I believe that companies need to undergo a massive transformation and mindset shift to not just succeed over the next decade, but to survive. For too long, too many businesses have been focused solely on the pursuit of profit. Regardless of its impact on others, or on society. Too many teams are run from a resource-based perspective, not one based on people. Too many leaders are incentivizing employees by dollars alone, mistaking money for motivation.
I believe that these attitudes cost companies more that they think. Low levels of loyalty, engagement and creativity are far more expensive than they appear on paper. I also believe that this will become increasingly costly with a younger and younger generation.
I believe that people that are fulfilled build happier homes, greater communities and stronger companies. That business is an important force for good. And when creativity, integrity and meaning are added to the equation, remarkable things can happen — and that includes your bottom line.
Profit, creativity and meaning can and should co-exist. This is what I call “good business.”
4. To share everything I’ve learned in business, corporate finance & more
As a former investment banker, that means I know corporate finance, or finance for businesses. That’s everything from helping companies get a loan or raise equity, build forecasts and budgets, acquire other businesses or even sell. I’ve worked with small, private owner-operated businesses. I’ve worked with large, publicly traded ones and the even larger, global ones.
I realize that finance can be complicated, overwhelming or even boring for many of you. Maybe you just have some questions or need a little direction. That’s where I come in. I want to make it fun and exciting and accessible, not bland and sterile like it often is! Better yet, subscribe to the newsletter to benefit from exclusive content, resources & advice made just for you.
A self-professed millennial (and proud of it), I’m also deeply moved by leadership, company culture and the digital era. I’ll be sharing content on that too.
There are so many talented artists, freelancers, entrepreneurs, start-ups and businesses out there. I hope that you find this site useful for your journey. If there are any specific topics you’d like to cover, please do let me know in the comments below.
5. To promote a healthy & active lifestyle so we can live longer, happier lives
I’m a big believer in food. The healing power of food. The community it creates. The love it shares. Because of my own experience, I taught myself a lot about nutrition, fitness and discovered a path to self-acceptance. I learned to enjoy food, which in turn, grew into a profound love for cooking. Knowing that so many women, especially young women, have it hard when it comes to their body image and relationship with food breaks my heart and compels me to speak up.
I also realize that finding the time to prepare healthy meals and exercise in this fast-paced life can be a challenge. This entire subject is very important to me (not to mention the fact that I also have a bone to pick with the food industry…). This is why you’ll find some of my favourite go-to recipes, food stories and wellness tips to help us build better relationships with ourselves and our food.
6. To share timeless style, so we can buy fewer, better things and live with greater intention
I love style — whether it be in fashion or interiors. Over the years, I’ve developed my personal style, and I’ve come to believe in quality over quantity. As William Morris puts it, “Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful”. Some may call this minimalism or essentialism, but I don’t have specific label for it. I’d simply rather have less, than more. And if there’s something that really bothers me, it’s spending hard earned dollars on a product that I don’t love. With that in mind, I’ll only be sharing things that I wear and use myself. The best of the best — or as we say in French, the crème de la crème.
7. To speak up on things that matter because it’s important
Social media isn’t just about pretty pictures, flatlays and OOTDs. It’s about connection. Real connection. And using it to speak up about real things is matters to me. There are many issues that I hold dear to my heart, from self-acceptance to body image, the food industry, women’s rights & equality for all, to name a few. Let’s get chatty, friends!
When it comes down to it, I’m doing this not only because it’s fun (and it is!), but because I believe it’s important. It’s important to share knowledge if it can help someone else. It’s important to connect with people on a real, authentic basis.
It’s important to be of service.
And that’s what’s most important.
